Y’all. I don’t know where my brain is. But apparently it’s been out to lunch for days.
While working on my latest Alder I failed to realize that my placket was inserted incorrectly (too wide). I ended up ripping out the collar three times and cutting out two new ones. It was beyond me as to why it kept coming up too long. Once I noticed my beautiful placket was wrong, with heavy heart, I ripped it out.
I lost a day and half of work (three naps). But I remain determined to finish. I almost lost my cool and walked away from the project, calling it a lost. But I’m too stubborn. Besides, it’s silk. Who can say no to silk?
I’m back to where I was two days ago but with a collar that fits! Huzzah!
So glad it worked out in the end. I do stuff like this sometimes, its so frustrating! But it feels so good when you get it right and done! Can’t wait to see this baby!

I hope so! It’s looking very loud to me lately. I will have to tame it down with a layering piece. At least it will feel good if nothing else.

ugh, hate it when that happens! That usually happens to me on really simple makes, making them much less simple!

Tell me about it! I was working on a Kimono top for the first time and could not wrap my head around the fit of it. Total headache. And such a simple pattern! Grrr…

It’s amazing how breathing through my nose and out my mouth helped calm me down. I was almost in tears. I hate making silly mistakes over and over again. As surely lots of people do 🙂

Oh man, I HATE the time suck of having to rip and re-do (and I don’t even measure my time it naps!). Can imagine the frustration. But that’s gorgeous fabric & will definitely be worth the effort in the end. Good luck!

Way to persevere! I have been equally plagued with do-overs. The path to perfection is terribly imperfect. Loving the silk, btw.

Thank you! Aren’t do-overs the worst when your free time is so little?
