The cutest little waistcoat (or vest) and a giveaway!

Remember when I said my son was napping like a champ? Well, gone are those days. He’s taken to napping in spurts, anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. I now never know how long I can devote to crafting. Enter Little Dress Kits.

Katie, from Little Dress Kits, contacted me and offered me a kit to try out and I was totally game. The kits take out the work in picking out notions and fabrics. All is provided for you in a neat little package. I chose the waistcoat and it came with the buttons, matching thread, two coordinating fabrics and a few other bits.

I found it to be a great sewing project that can be completed in a few sessions (or three naps, if you’re me). And it was nice not to have to think about getting everything together. The kits come in three levels of experience, making it a great gift to a green sewist or a someone more skilled. A cool thing about the pattern pieces are that they adhesive, so no pins are needed. My mind was blown.

The only thing I did differently from the instructions was to slip stitch the bias binding to the inside of the vest. I preferred the way it looked this way.

As soon as I finished the vest I put it on my little mister. He’s quite the model. I’m totally going to have him wear it for his 4 month photo session.

Thanks Katie for the awesome kit and for offering one to give away.

  1. These are adorable! I’ve been thinking about starting to make some things as I’m due in late October. It’s a boy and I have to say the waistcoat and car dungarees are so cute! Thanks for posting about his shop!

  2. Just been to her website, and I love the Car dungarees kit. I’ve never sewn anything for Noah, so this will be a good project to start with.

  4. That is the coolest idea! All those kits are adorable; really, who can resist a kit? Even though I don’t have any kids, I’m entering anyway – I love those little car dungarees!

Your little vest is so cute, and even cuter on the lil guy!

  5. OMG, your little dude looks adorable in his waistcoat! What a great idea/product from Katie! I love her kits so much, but please don’t enter me for the giveaway as I know other people (who actually have kids) will have more use for it ;o)
