The weather in England today is quite shit. No really. It’s super cold and wet. With that said we headed off to Folkestone, Kent to meet up with friends. After a fast train there we were soon rewarded with the White Cliffs of Dover. Gorgeous.
After wandering about in Folkestone, in blistering winds, we were ready to head home. Today people, is ideal pyjama weather. Am I too late for Karen’s pyjama party? I hope not because I’m ready. Let me go turn on the fire (did I mention it’s freaking cold?!), put on my jammies and wooly slippers and I’ll be all set.
Oh, yes. These were a quick make and I made no adjustments. Maybe I should have because the crotch is almost at my knees. No matter. They are quite relaxing. Wait. I’m still cold. I can remedy that quickly.
Not only is today ideal pyjama weather but it’s ideal mulled wine weather.
Mmm…deeelish. I’d share but there’s only one bottle. Apologies.
Pass me my book and I’m set for the rest of the night. Oh look, I managed to get some sewing-related treats in Folkestone. Of course I did.
I hope everyone had a great time at the party and not too many pillows were hurt. As for me, I am calling it a night and staying in. Me and my wine of course.
Gorgeous photos. Those slippers are to die for. I’ve always wanted to read something by PG. enjoy your mulled wine!

Those slippers are on my top five things I’ve made this year. Love them!
If you pick up a Philippa Gregory book let me suggest you read the ‘Other Boleyn Girl.’ I’m on a third book of hers and that was my favorite so far.

Love the floral fabric! Slippers are definitely on my list of things to make this year. Did you use a pattern?

I did a workshop and they gave us a pattern to use. I bet it’s something you can find online. It’s a very basic pattern.

This weather needs to go away. Bring back the March sunshine. Luckily I have mulled wine and hot chocolate to keep me warm.

Hmmmmmm hot chocolate. That’s a good plan. It’s foul here in Lancashire today and I’m pretty sure it’s the same in your neck of the woods. Keep warm and dry!

I think you’ve got the cosiest pics in this party Melizza! The PJs & slippers look perfect companions & having a real fire & mulled wine – strange saying it so near May, but you’ve got it right lady!!

Thank you! I though If I could change anything I might have made flannel PJs instead of thin cotton ones. It was so darn cold yesterday.

What a perfect outfit to wear by the fire with mulled wine and a good book. I love Philippa Gregory’s books.
Also love the photo of the White Cliffs of Dover. I am originally from Kent and used to go down to Dover and Folstone often!

I love everything about this post! It may be cold, but you look super cozy. The slippers are amazing, the jammy pants look comfy and this mulled wine you speak of, I’ve never had it, what does it taste like?

Thank you! You have to try mulled wine if you get the chance. It’s red wine warmed with spices and fruit. It’s also sweetened, which makes it even better. It’s usually served during the Christmas holidays.
If you ever want to make your own Jaime Oliver has a great recipe online. It’s delicious!

I hate this cold weather! I get rained on every time I go for the ‘school run’ – it’s not fun anymore! Great PJ’s and fire, very appropriate. I have just finished PG’s ‘the Virgin’s fool’. I love her books, they make me wish I knew more History…

I love historical fictions! One of my favorite things to do is read up online for historical (in)accuracies. It helps dust away the cobwebs in my brain ๐

Yes, I made the slippers at a workshop. They use remnants of sheep fur and wool sweaters. They are super cozy.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m sure I will see you during MMM!
